"Who knows how far back the seeds of my injuries go. I suspect somewhere near the seeds of ambition."
Love this line, it rings so true to me. I have so many injuries that stem from that same ambition. all the good things in my life seemed to have naturally come into place without much effort on my part and all my injuries and frustration have come from some misguided ambition trying to force things into place.
If you’re in the mood of “Let’s try everything to heal this” you should definitely try a “Feeding your demons” session with the demon of the cancer. I’ve heard very interesting stories about how this practice affects deep chronic diseases.
Sending lots of love from Sydney. Your work is very inspiring to me, and I hope you get to enjoy many more centuries on this earth. You certainly seem to be making the most of it! Hopefully, the physical realm within you will find alignment again. All the best for your healing—I’m sending my prayers ❤️🩹
Hi Ruben, wishing you all the best for the treatments and especially for maintaing inner peace and freedom. Just listened to your inspiring talk with H. Wallis. Also spend a lot of time in Burma for Theravada and in Japan/Rinzai. And was also diagnosed with cancer last year, a real adventure! Was healed within 4 months without any chemo and radiation. I know that you are saturated with support, anyway, if you are interested, please contact me anytime.
i just came to an awareness of you + your work only a week or so ago. i have already learned so much from you. thank you for your help. i am sad to learn you had cancer. and now it might be back. i had breast cancer, diagnosed a year ago; then surgery + radiation. i declined chemotherapy (so antagonistic to the system), feeling fine with being done @ the 1 in 20 recurrence mark. mammogram follow-up tomorrow so we'll see what the universe says. i am glad you follow the work of michael levin. it gives me hope also. if my cancer comes back i would immediately email dr. levin and volunteer for any list he might have going for the first human trials of electro therapeutics to persuade and re-align alienated, errant cells! or i also might just carry on because i am just about 70, and am very happy about the life i have lived (no fame or glory really— just one of those extraordinary, blessedly fairly normal ones.) if i could donate a year of the remainder of my life to you, i would, very gladly. yea, get a bunch of us olders to chip in as much life time as each of us are comfortable offering. you are an amazing person. despite whatever obstacles + challenges arise, i hope and will pray that you live long + thrive. maia
ps this is the first social media post i have ever written in my whole life.
Dear Maia. Thanks for the very warm message. How did your mammogram go? Your first social media post!? Congratulations - and what an honour. Your offer is well received, but I'm (fortunately) saturated in support! Wishing you all the best. Ruben
Hi Ruben - so sorry to read about your cancer. Hope your treatment and all of your efforts will get the cancer for good this time. I just discovered your papers and writings and podcast and I want to thank you for all your great contributions to understanding consciousness! It has been revelatory for me and confirms so many of my own experiences in my own meditation journey. Happy to read you tried breath-work and experienced many benefits and healings. I have dived deep into the breath-work rabbit hole and can highly recommend the following if you haven’t already heard about it. I can highly recommend Reginald Ray’s audio series from Sounds True. Especially, meditating with the body and Your breathing Body 1 & 2. They really transformed my inner state and brought so many healing benefits to me. I also tried Wim Hof’s WHM Tummo breathing. It really grounded me in my body and in the earth and have been so valuable for me. Maybe it’s because I have been meditating for 26 years - but these exercises really took me much deeper towards the source of my consciousness. https://www.soundstrue.com/blogs/authors/reginald-a-ray?srsltid=AfmBOop5NFKGe1BVnzl0iqF1cK_-Lzt2mN4V3_W2bFlrxE1JU4cw4FuD#
Of course there is the fantastic book by Science journalist - James Nestor - Breath the new science of a lost art. If you are interested. Good luck Ruben. Best wishes, Jesper.
Thank you for yet another beautiful piece of writing. Your work is very inspiring. And breathwork – yeah! Pure magic! I teach meditation, and I have recently begun working together with an excellent breathwork guy. We are developing retreats combining a form of holotropic breathing with integrating guidet meditations. I wish I had known about breathwork myself when I began meditating – strikes me as a very valuable kick start (or shortcut) to a serious practice. – All the best wishes for you! I will, to the best of my abilities, send healing and metta to you via the great cosmic internet!
Your talk at Lanna was one of the true highlights Ruben and allowed for a glimmer of hope in the AI discourse. Still thinking about it a lot. Sending all the positive energy for your healing ❤️🩹

I thought that must ring true for someone else!

Stay away from the chemo and radiation. Toxic things are just going to cause more issues down the line, like resurgence of cancer.
She recently beat cancer avoiding the allopathic stuff... I bet if you message her she can give more info on what she used.
